Welcome

Every day in communities across Africa and here in Uganda, millions of dogs and pets face hardship, neglect, and violence — not because they deserve it, but because too many people lack access to education, resources, and effective animal welfare policies. Across low-resource regions, unvaccinated and free - roaming animals struggle to survive, and entire communities suffer because of it.

In Uganda alone, only a small fraction of dogs receive routine vaccinations, leaving both animals and people vulnerable to deadly diseases like rabies. Only around 10% of domestic dogs are vaccinated, far below the World Health Organization’s recommended levels needed to prevent outbreaks.

Because of limited access to veterinary care, thousands of dog bite incidents are reported every year, and countless more go unrecorded. Free-roaming and abandoned animals often wander streets in search of food, shelter, and protection—only to face injury, starvation, and disease.

Weak enforcement of animal welfare laws and outdated policies mean that even where laws exist, they are not protecting animals or communities effectively. Without humane population control strategies, many dogs are left to fend for themselves, contributing to unnecessary suffering and public health risks.

At S & S EnviDogs and Pets Haven, we are on the front lines of this crisis. Founded by a father and son bound by compassion and determined to end violence against animals (“Envi”), our haven is a place of refuge, healing, and hope. We rescue animals from cruelty and abandonment, provide medical care and rehabilitation, and work tirelessly to rehome them into loving families.

But we know that rescue alone isn’t enough.

We combine direct care with community education, advocacy, and vaccination campaigns—because long-term impact comes from changing hearts, minds, and systems. We believe that real transformation happens when communities understand the value of animals, when owners are supported with knowledge and resources, and when policies prioritize humane treatment for all living beings.

With the support of donors from around the world, we are building a future where animals are no longer ignored, abused, or left to suffer. Your partnership helps us:

  • Rescue and treat vulnerable animals
  • Vaccinate to prevent deadly diseases
  • Educate communities on responsible pet care
  • Advocate for stronger, more effective animal welfare policies

Every life we save, every heart we change, and every community we educate brings us closer to a world where all animals live in safety and dignity.
